She saw some of the other women posting their first models and asked me why I hadn't done that for her...so after profuse apologies-- I got the camera out and here they are. I have built over 30 and still cannot get such a nice paint job....she did no masking-- I wish my hands were this steady.

Once again, great work, Mrs. Jeeves! The colors on that P-26 are fantastic! About time Jeeves posted them. LOL.

Betty and Donna are gonna love these shots.

Sweet ! Those between-the-wars planes were so attractive. What's the kit & scale? When you say "steady hands," are you saying this was painted with a brush?
Fantastic work !

Yes it was Pix.... just got an airbrush for Christmas.....Janice did it all by hand. As I said in another thread-- she credits all those years of doing her nails for her skill. It's a 1:48 scale...and it's either Academy or Hobbycraft... I can't remember offhand Sad [:(]

It's an Academy kit-beautiful job! I wish there were more Curtiss hawks, etc. on the market
Did she use decals for the markings-I couldn't get mine to "behave"?

Yes....I remember the nose bands giving her trouble-- but she seems to have figured it out Wink [;)]

She started a P-36 Hawk soon after this, but then when she got pregnant- she didn't want to be near the fumes...although now that our daughter's had her In and Out Day, I am not sure what her excuse is LOL

Please tell Mrs Jeeves that her P-26 is just beautiful. I really like planes with yellow wings. There is just something about that era of flight.

Hey Ed....

Atlanta?? What's going on in Atlanta? I don't think we'll be heading down there anytime soon...although it would sure beat the cold we are having now ....-28 at present!

madda-- She doesn't really remember how many coats exactly-- she said she thinks 2.

Thanks to everyone else-- let's keep it up and see if we can't get her back into it LOL

Hmm....I tried linking to the images directly from Ron's site so they would show up here-- but all I got were red X's.....but at least the links work..... I added img tags to each side-- what did I miss??

I tried bracket img bracket...and then the address- http://rongeorge.com/modules/Gallery/aircraft/peashooter.jpg and then bracket /img bracket but no joy....
