Mission Accomplished - The Story of the Flying Fortress

Posted this over at SHF and decided to put it here as well...

Below is a link to an MPEG of a USG period film about the B-17. It's typical American 'propaganda' of the time and a really great view.

Depending on your connection speed and the space you have on your hard drive, you may want to download the flick instead of trying to watch it online. It's a rather large file, 106MB, so use your own judgement.

Mission Accomplished

Enjoy!

I found it rather entertaining! and it gives several perspecives of tje '17 that i haven't seen before. Then again, it may be that i'm biased. Big Smile [:D] anymore films like this one?

Thanks, Steve-O. I hadn't seen that one in years.

Shrikes,

Yes, I've got more of this type of stuff but relatively few PC files. Most of what I have is VHS or DVD. In any event, I have nowhere to host any of the mpeg or avi files I've got. I was trading some files with a fella in Germany, found he had this flick and started to download it. I've been looking for it in a purely digital format because although I've got it on VHS, it's terrible quality and gets worse with age. I'd really like to find a good quality DVD of this and some of the other stuff that's out there. And there's ALOT out there, but some of it's kinda pricey.

Anyhoo, this fella gave me this direct link to the file because it was quicker than downloading through the client I use. I asked him if I could share it with others. He had no problem with that so here 'tis!

I've also got tons of audio files which I trade and sell on CD. If I can get some good hosting for audio and video files I plan to build a membership site where you can stream or download this stuff. It can be expen$ive though, and I just don't have the $$$ at the moment...

Someday... Disapprove [V]

Cool [8D] Man that was a good one. I collect all of those I can and burn them to disk so I can watch them on my DVD player. Did not have that one thanks for sharing. I moved all of my VHS stuff to DVD for the same reason, tape only lasts so long. I also had some super 8 stuff my dad shot in V,nam . Mostly Skyraider (I think that was the name they had) prop job fighters. Also a really great short 5 min one of a c-130 gun ship doing a fire mission on the edge of the firebase at night. (which reminds me I need to do one of those too Shy [8)] )
Any how thanks for sharing the link
