I keep a notebook with techniques that I have found to work well, paint mixing ratios, etc. This is done mainly because I will forget things if I do not write them down, and also because my modeling sessions are generally limited to friday and saturday nights. BT

I keep records of any paint-to-thinner rations for airbrushing, especially with different mfgrs and problem colors, like yellow and white. These days I keep a computer journal with pics downloaded into the file.

I keep a journal, starting with my research sources and research notes. Then I put down the configuration of my build, and note any special details I want to incorporate.
When I start, I note what I did by steps, and include computer references for templates and such, paint mixes, etc. I usually do this sometime on each weekend.

I just made the following entry before logging on (keep in mind that my ships are multi-year projects):
January 4 to 11, 04:
14 hull plates made & installed, shell now approx. 25% complete. Approx. 2000 rivets embossed in the plates.

Minor frame misalignment continues in stern areas. Styrene frames are not stiff enough. Decided to abandon lower deck interior aft of engine room, construct quarterdeck for stiffness, and close these spaces in.

This was a quiet week.

Bruce
