If you can't find a color picture of the side wall, you should be able to paint the side walls from the manuals you have. Just remember that most of the time, structural items are usually going to be chromate green and electrical items (panels, junction boxes) are usually black. (or maybe 2 out of three boxes).
But by the same token a color can vary from aircraft to aircraft. For example, look at Pixilater's top picture. On the left side, a little over half way down there is a red handle pointed down and towards the center and it appears to be on a circular plate. The handle and the plate are the components of the magneto (ignition) switch. They all have a common AN number (which I can't remember) but have been manufactured in all black, red handle and black plate, black handle and red plate, all red or black plate and silver handle and you can find any color (or combination there of) in any given T-6.
Another thing you might think about is that when the aircraft may have been modified by the owner to suit his tastes. Or were forced on the owner by the FAA (CAA in those days).

Not all of them have cockpit shots or have only one or two, some images are kinda small and there's lotsa foreign types which may be slightly different in some details. Also, some of these that do have shots of the pits show modern day instruments. But you should find something useful here.

Man am I glad this came up. I flew one of these a year ago and just found an old model of it this weekend. I've been kind of wondering about references for it. Thanks guys. I'll bookmark all these and get to the Texan after I get to my A7-E.

Excellent-- thanks all!! I even emailed North American Top Gun-- the company that had the Texan I flew this summer to see if they could hook me up with some....they replied that my best bet was to wait until they came around again and bring a camera. Thanks....but I don't want to wait 6 months

That next to the last link was more helpful than you know The one of the older gentleman sitting with thumbs up in the Texan....that's the North American Top Gun SNJ he's sitting in...I actually flew their yellow Texan-- but I had no idea what the insignia on the side of the cockpit was in mine as most of my pictures were taken by my wife from far away...so I couldn't make out what was there.....now I know it's their logo!! I knew they had the Pratt & Whitney medallion on the cowling....but couldn't figure out what was under the canopy. Thanks!! Now to go make some custom decals....
