1/32 109G-6 in progress
Posted by Jeff Herne on Monday, January 12, 2004 12:10 AM
This is the winter workbench...I've converted my 1-car garage into a shop, but it gets tooooo cold in the winter to work down there, so I move up to the computer room during the snow season...

This is the 1/32 Hasegawa 109G-6, about 3/4 done, done up in III./JG27 markings. I took the Gruppe markings from the Hasegawa 190D-9, and the JG emblem from the old 1/48 Fujimi 109 decal sheet. They were so oversized in 1/48 that they're perfect in 1/32... Regards, JH

Jeff,
Your workbench looks a lot neater than mine. Also you allow yourself a much bigger clear area for the model you are working on.

Nice looking bird, I can hear the pilots thoughts already, 'props ticking over, radiator is full open but engine temperature is rising just sitting on the apron, kick the rudder to check the field, engine temp is climbing, throttle up - time to go....'
Hey, I don't see any bottle of Future on that desk. Are you sure you're a real modeler?

The bottle of Future is actually on the floor...next to the airbrush compressor. I tipped it over early on in the process, tha cap was open, so I had Future splash all over the place, good thing there was no paint on the 109 at the time.

Jeff

PS: I'm a real modeler...last time I checked...

You certainly build em like a real modeler - stop wasting that Future on the floor.

Looks good. The unit badge does appear to be in scale. Wonder what they were thinking when they included it in a !/48 kit?
I've been tempted by the level of detail molded into the new !/32 kits. They even look great out of the box. But I have too many 1/48 to make the switch.
Post some pics when you're done !

Will do...I'm building everything I can get my hands on lately, no specific trend...figures, ships, 1/72 aircraft, 1/32 aircraft...I'm all over the place these last 4 weeks. But I am having fun, and that's all that matters.
