I always tell my mail gal that she should wear red and white, 'cuz every day's like Christmas around here...

So how is it? I've been eagerly awaiting this one; if it's decent it'll look good next to the Widgeon. If I ever build 'em, that is...

It's pretty nice. I've only examined the plastic pieces closely at this point and they are fine to say the least. The resin looked good at a glance and interior detail looks fairly in-depth ... I'll be digging deeper into it between model building sessions and hope to post a review within the week. Would be sooner but I'm right in the middle of reviewing the Accurate TBM-3 this week.

Swanny:
I'm glad he's somebody's friend ... what did you do, make a model of a mail truck for him?
I just got my ship plans from the NMM in the UK, and let's just say between British Post and Canada Post I had to wait an extraordinarily long time ...

BTW, nice Goose. What scheme are you going to put it in?

I dont even remember half the stuff I try and get in.

From the US, it takes on average 4 months on a leaky boat fro the stuff to get here, unless I pay DOUBLE the amount, then it gets on a plane and takes 2 weeks.

So when the Aussie dollar hits 50 US cents again, I'll stop modelling for a bit, till then, you guys better not have a shortage on Avgas!!!!!!Wink [;)]Wink [;)]Wink [;)]Wink [;)]Wink [;)]Wink [;)]Wink [;)]

Oh yeah, I'm currently talking to Greg at Draw Decals, http://www.drawdecal.com/ to see if he can do any of his fabulouse 1/72 Goose decals in 1/48. If you want to build a Goose you should look at his stuff - very cool.

Just a thought, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police used a Goose for decades on the West Coast.I believe it is in the National Aviation Museum in Ottawa, Canada.I know they have a website. Might be worth your while for an interesting, different subject.

That is an excellent idea and I have not done any Canadian birds yet - gee, that's almost criminal isn't it? Heh heh, a Canadian Goose, that's good.

A quick mind and even quicker wit.I never put the 2 together. You might have to put a litter box under it when it's done,as anyone who has been around Canada Geese knows, for all that goes in it seems twice as much comes out.Good luck with your new endeavor.

Hey Pixilater, has that reference shot color-shifted? Or does the prototype just have a gloss finish?Big Smile [:D]

About time a good kit came out of the Goose. I aways wanted to do "Cutter's Goose" from "Tales of the Gold Monkey" tv series.

The black and gray's with the white undersides of the "Canadian Goose" scheme would look really sharp!!! Big Smile [:D]

Swanny:
I have a poster of a RCMP Goose in flight. It is too big to scan (if I had a scanner) but if you like I can send it to you. They used several of these planes around the country, and it is a neat blue on white scheme.

Bruce

Hey Swanny. I just got that one the other day as well. I cannot wait to build it!Always been a favorite of mine, probably because of the Steven Collins TV drama in the early 80s, "Tales of the Gold Monkey"! Roddy McDowell's character owned the bar/hotel. What is it with Roddy and primates anyway? I always got the dog and Steven Collins' characters names mixed up. One was Jack and the other was Jake.

Think I'll stick with the blue planes for a while. Save $$$ that way not buying soo many different colors. I'll go back to the olive drab and brown next year. Where does that leave the metallics? Confused [%-)] Heck, Roddy McDowell and his fiance will probably be trying to convince everyone humans can think and speak by the time I get to those! <--- I hope someone gets that.
