Hey guys,

I'm not sure if this is the place for this or not, but what the heck...

Am I the only one who is a little disappointed by the recent Great Scale Modeler? What I mean specifically is that there is a beautiful diorama on the cover of the magazine (the shot up B-17), but no pictures of it IN the magazine. It would be like putting Jessica Simpson on the cover of Playboy and, uh, well, you know what I mean...Smile [:)]

bbrowniii,

Great Scale Modeling does that with EVERY issue (almost). Last year's issue had that carrier deck diorama, and I wanted to read about it SOOOOO bad. But, it wasn't in there. I don't think that anyone from Kalmbach has ever explained why this is.

i didnt see this years GSM yet, but i did notice in last years that the model boat above the terrific ships text on the cover was also not in the magazine.

I thought the car on the front cover was great, but there were hardly any cars in the magazine itself. I guess they may think of being a cover photo, better than being in the mag itself??!! Just a thought

Yeah, it was the Viking getting ready to launch, with the blast deflectors up. I LOVED that diorama! I would love to build something similar to that.

Yes, I thought it was great eye candy. I was disappointed, however, that little reference was made to HOW some of those stunning dioramas were created. It was more an issue of results rather than process.
