Thats T for trager, (Carrier) The T1 had a different canopy & spinner from the T2. a T2 never had the catapult spools fitted. They were converted from bf109E's, with a wingfold, only about a dozen or so were made, they were supposed to go aboard the Graf Zeppelin, and the Peter Strasser. To fold the wings, the book I have says the flaps had to be removed. It should also have a hook. When the carriers were shelved the 109's were used ( it says here) by 1/JG77 (later renamed 1/JG5) in Norway, where it's increased wingspan made it 's short field performance turned out to be useful. They were 'denavalised' (hooks & spools removed before going to Norway) Apparently there is a photo knocking about of a T2 (RB+OP) with mottled fuselage & splinter pattern wings. the info here may be out of date or rather, need updating by now, it's from Airfix magazine guide #25, dated 1977! Hope this helps.
