Just wondering if the F/A-18 Hornets from hasegawa are tail heavy? Working at a
snails pace on a pair of them. Help me out thanks.

You better believe they're tail heavy! There a great build, though. Just add a few grams of weight in the nose cone (or radome, if you prefer). I usually use small round lead balls with 5 minute epoxy to hold it all in. The landing gear will hold up pretty well to the extra weight. What version are you building? I built the F/A-18D two-seater. Let us all know how it comes out.

Good to know. I never thought that an F-18 would be tail heavy. I normally do 1/72 but broke down and bought and A and D models. Couldn't help myself.

I'm still waiting on my D-model in the mail. Should be here monday. I'm doing the ATARS conversion for it and was hoping the resin nose will be enough to keep the nose down. I'll let you know when i get it. Probably do some sort of write up on the conversion as well.

I have an A and C. WIll be a long time before they are done though. I already have the nose installed on both of them. But I do not have the top half installed so I will install them under the cockpit. Something told me they would be tail heavy as I have already installed the tailfins.

I just got the F-18B "NASA" and absolutely loving it! I have the major airframe nearly completed. All it needs are the trailing edge flaps, then allI've got to do is put the cockpit in it. As for the tail heavy question, my dad has built a ton of them and never had to add any weight to get it to sit on all three legs. But then again this is the same guy who told me that it had bad fit problems (and I haven't had any...). Good luck. I hope yours turns out nicely.
