Not sure on what decal paper you ordered-- but I am using the stuff from Bare Metal Foil-- adjust the printer settings to decals (or transparency)-- print- let dry-- and I use decal film over it-- rarely get bleed- but sometimes black does a little...overall I am very happy with it though.

Bleed?....That should not happen....
You should set the printer set for either decal paper (if available) or photo paper.
Once you got it right you need to seal the paper with varnish before dipping it to water.

Hi:

I've just gotten into the beginning stages of making my own decals. I would suggest you look at this link:

http://www.tangopapadecals.com/Decal%20Talk%20and%20Article.doc

This is a great "how to" article (in Word format) for beginners, and the site's owner, Tom Prestia, is highly experienced. He has many supplies available, his service is excellent, and he has even made perfect custom decals for me. His work is 100% professional, and it's not too expensive.

I recommend you check it out. Smile [:)]

Printing your own decals - tips?

Sometimes you just have to make things harder on yourself. In my case, I want to try my hand at printing my own decals, so I picked up some decal sheet stock from Great Models and tried running it through my color printer. The ink simply beaded up on the film!

Can anyone please give me a few tips on printing decals to get good results?
