The old Matchbox Norseman kit in 1/72 has markings purportedly of the a/c Capt. Miller was a passenger in at the time of his disappearance. Hioe that helps.

This is kind of a pet project of mine, although I haven't done much research on it lately.

The only visual representation of the aircraft which I've been able to find is this painting by Mark Postlethwaite:

I dunno what research he did on the bird and I've been meaning to contact him about the subject. Anyhoo, I really have no clue how accurate this representation is; being an artist myself I'm the first to be skeptical or critical of artists' interpretations.

Somewhere I have copies of some of the associated USAAF reports & correspondance regarding the disappearance of Maj. Miller and I'll try to dig them out in the next day or so.

More to come...

Not sure if the Norseman pictured is the plane in question, however.

Outside of buying the Modelcraft Norseman kit, does anybody out there have any specific information about the Noorduyn Norseman Glenn Miller was in when he disappeared? How about sources for 1/48 decals for this airplane? Are there resources to find aircraft data based on its serial number? I believe that particular Norseman was AAF Serial Number 470285, but I haven't been able to confirm this. Thanks!Big Smile [:D]
