Posted by Buddho on Wednesday, January 21, 2004 6:39 PM
I recently opened some kits I bought and was wondering if anybody has built these any of these:

1/32 scale GeeBee R1 racer
1/32 scale Wedel- Williams racer
1/32 scale Sparrowhawk
1/32 scale Ford Flivver
1/53 scale Lockheed 10 Electra

Thanks , Dan Approve [^]

I've built all of them over the years. They're from older molds, but with a bit of work, make nice models of interesting aircraft.

I agree with Keyworth, I've built the Williams Brothers C-46 and B-10 and they took quite a bit of work. But Williams Brothers always maintained that their models were for advanced modelers, not beginners. And they are a lot easier than vacuform to work with.

Williams Brothers kits can be a bit ugly, but I really enjoy 'em.

Not building them, just lookin' at 'em! Tongue [:P]

Thanks guys....The detail on each kit looks pretty good, and the
decals look fine, but the instructions are a bit different...usually one page!
I like the airplane types though...ones you don't see often. If they turn
out, I might have to post a few ~: )

I'd like to see that Sparrowhawk built up, then I might get the courage to build mine. Sigh [sigh]

Their decals are VERY good. The kits are so unusual and exotic you are happy to gloss over the very soft plastic and the not so standard engraving and level of details. A bit of extra work can remeduy those 'problems'. Their instructions sheets are extremely researched and informative. I've built their C-46 (twice), their B-10, and have nearly completed their Caudron Racer. Loved them all.
