Yessiree. It's not the greatest kit and the fit is 'eh', but if all you want is something that looks like a MiG-29, it'll do.
The only other decent 48th MiG-29's out there are the Academy kits which are much nicer than Monogram's but still not the greatest. They made a Mig-29A and a MiG-29UB. If you're lookin' to build a really nice 48th Fulcrum you can use the Academy kits and some resin & brass or good 'ole fashioned scratchbuilding. I wish Hasegawa would come out with a MiG-29 of their own in 48th. (The kit they currently market is actually Monogram's.)
Speaking of reboxes... Tamiya's 72nd MiG-29 is the Italeri kit, but it's dang nice despite anything you hear about Italeri. I dunno how it fits, though, I don't build little scale.
The Hasegawa 72nd kit is decent but suffers from a lack of accuracy. It's a helluvalot better than Fujimi's 72nd kit, though. When the MiG-29 was first seen fairly close up by western eyes in 1986 it seemed that Fujimi and Hasegawa were in a race to release the first kit of this bird. Fujimi won the race but the result was a somewhat poor representation of the Fulcrum. Hasegawa took a little more care and, at the time, theirs was the finest MiG-29 kit out there. It's now starting to show it's age and I personally wouldn't build either, even if I did build little scale.
Revell had a 72nd MiG-29UB which was kinda okay. I dunno if they had a MiG-29A, though.
Uh...lessee... Oh yeah, the 32nd Revell. Nice model, I've built a couple of them and they go together fairly well. The only real bad point is the cockpit, not as much detail as you'd expect, but that's why ___ (insert sacred holy entity of choice) invented resin!
Real little scale... The DML/Dragon 1/144 kits are okay, but there's a much nicer kit out there; I just can't think of who made it. LS maybe? I think Tsukuda made one too, but I'm even less in touch with real little scale than with little scale.
Anyhoo, there's undoubtedly some others, like that Airfix kit...
