Carlos -- c'est magnifique! You have done battle and defeated this kit, sir! It looks truly beautiful and you can be very proud of it!
I have the two-seater nightfighter version in the same scale and can say that the recontoured forward fuselage completely avoids the shocking lineup issue of the original, which I think should make it a friendlier build.
Would you believe, the RLM 78 and RLM 80 matches from Acryl never did come into stock... They're supposed to be working up the range in this country but as of this time they sure haven't filled my order. I looked at Sprue Bros a few days ago and the Acryl RLM 80 was not on their list. My second Revell 1:72 Ho is back in its box and filed in the stash, awaiting the supply of the shades.
Cheers, and very well done,
Mike/TB379

I love your HO and want to marry it...
Back from the dead, but worth seeing again!
That build illustrates why Manny is so attracted to HOs.
Great job!
How did I miss this one? Man, that is an awesome build!

Hello Carlos. Beautiful build. Did you cut a little from the bar that goes above the instrument panel? The one that's supposed to hold the aiming device? I see some builds that did away with it completely. I was thinking of cutting a little to make it fit after the windshield has been installed. I also intend to paint mine as a prototype.. shades of silver and gray, and a couple of decals, just to indicate it as a work in progress. Hehe, thanks
carsanab Texgunner: That's just great. Now I want one of these too! Man, I love that plane; what a nice job on the build and camo. So, there are lot's of issues with this kit? I've looked at one at the LHS but didn't buy it. I wish I had now. Beautiful! Gary Gary...thanks.... If your LHS has a kit...I recommend you buy it...I had a tough time getting it....found this one on ebay for a good price....the kit.....great detail.....TERRIBLE fit on the wings..need to be patient...fill and sand...the way the kit comes together leaves lots to be desired too...strange sequencing...there are some weak joints especially the two side rails along the canopy where it connects to the nose...the instuctions are terrible too.....but I wont go into that.....if you do decide to tackle a Ho...I would be glad to help out with some advice... Carlos

Carlos, I ordered the kit today, from an Ebay vendor in China. I am excited about building this one. Your bird was definitely the catalyst and the inspiration for this! Don't be surprised if I "pick your brains" when I get it started. Thanks, Gary.

Well done Carlos!
But why oh why did they have to put that monstrous nose wheel on the 229? It just seems wrong to me.

By "strange sequencing"
what do you mean?
Sorry, I need to ask as I'd like to buy the kit whenever it pops up again on the market.:
About the "terrible instructions" - do you mean just printed instructions bad but assembly drawings are good or did you need to figure the assembly out sans kit instructions?
Your earlier comments seem to indicate you actually built the kit without using the instructions and figured out the assembly by using photos of the real aircraft frame.

Very, VERY nice Sir!!!
Reasoned Looks terrific, you don't see many of those. Not much up on the German "wonder weapons" but did those actually fly and make it into combat?

Thanks all for the positive comments....again sorry about the pics..
test flight of different variants including the glider prototypes...didnt see any action altough I read that in one test flight it had a simulated dogfight with a Me-262.....and performed better.....if thats true or not???who knows....

Sharp job on the spotted Ho Big-Z! Love the camo and the extra work you put into the engines. Almost makes me want to run out and buy a 1/48th Ho myself. If I only had more time..........

Manstein's revenge I love your HO and want to marry her... Maybe the best 229 built so far for the 229 GB...

Usually Ho's are not the marrying type....but since its you...just might consider it....
oh and BORG...sorry forgot to answer your question....the mottle was freehand....I first drew the spots out lightly in pencil, then filled in with the AB...I really thinned the paint (Tamiya acrylic) with laquer thin then sprayed using low PSI...after testing and adjusting I worked about 1/2" off the surface using really light pressure on the trigger. It took some practice there is some overspray but acceptable, the dull cote at the end softened it up.

Here's 229 hand-claps! I love, love, love the Afrika Korps scheme. Fantastic build.

Carlos:
You'll be giving everyone HO-envy if you keep this up.
Borg R3-MC0 Very good looking Horten, how did you do the camo, freehand or masking? Only critque would be the background, because of the white background the white bands on the Horten "dissapear". Maybe a light grey or blue background would work better.
