Thought I would post a few pics

Since I have just returned to modeling recently I don't have anything new built yet to show, but I thought I would at least post something that I built several years back. This is a 1/72 scale Testors (Italeri) F-16A (?) that I thought came out pretty good.

Mike:

Cool pictures. I think it's great when people post pictures of their builds.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I appreciate it.

Josh,

I am about half done with the Monogram 1/48 Douglas A-1H Skyraider I am working on, so that will probably be my next. It will also be my first attempt at freehand camo on a plastic model. Big Smile [:D]

Nice job on the 16, Mike. Ive built the same kit from Italeri, but made mine in the 2-seat configuration. Thanks for sharing, and looking forward to more your works.

Mike, haven't you finished that F-15E yet? You posted pics of the exhaust a while ago. You must have something like my schedule.

Hey Karl. How's it going?
It's been a nightmare on the intakes of that F-15E. Disapprove [V]
The white inside the intakes didn't come out well with the MM acrylic white.
I should have just used MM enamels as that is what I have always used with good results. Oh well, I'm a daredevil. LOL
It started out alright but after getting back into the intakes further I started getting a sandy finish for whatever reason and so I tried to smooth it out with about 5 coats of Future which didn't work. I stripped the paint the other day with Easy-Off which also took the putty out of the seams I had filled so I am back to square one. Banged Head [banghead]

My son said I should build something else at the same time and so he went out in the garage to my small collection of kits and brought in my Monogram 1/48 A-1H Skyraider and said, "This would look awesome if you built it" and so I started on it also.
I don't work on them every day either so that also slows down the process. Big Smile [:D]

Actually, I believe this F-16 was only the second kit I built in my adult life believe it or not. I painted it with my first airbrush which was a Paasche VL.
I also built a 1/72 Hasegawa Mirage F-1 right before this F-16 and I will post pictures of it too after I take some.

Chris,

Thanks for the compliments brother.
I agree, those Israeli camo schemes look awesome.
My son has a Hasegawa F-16 kit that he is going to build someday in that pattern, but right now he is working on an Italeri F-15E. Wink [;)]

Mike,
I just now saw your build, and I must say I think it looks really nice! I have always loved the F-16 design (kind of reminds me of a modern P-51), and I think you did it justice. Of course, you just provided incentive for me to finish my Hasegawa quarter scale '16.
