Hey Owl,

Absolutely awesome build!! I just read the entire thread and I thoroughly enjoyed your photos and also your comments as you built that great looking aircraft. That's one of my favorite parts of this forum, seeing photos of other people's work, especially when it's as high quality as yours. I know this is a little late, but you mentioned doing some creative clamping so I thought I'd pass along a tip. Here's a photo of a 4 inch bar clamp that's on sale right now at Harbor Freight (Lot No. 46805). They have them for just one dollar each, no coupon required.  Hobby Lobby has the exact same clamp for EIGHT BUCKS EACH!! They make great fusalage clamps, and at that price I picked up a bunch of them and think I might even go back for more. The sale ends July 31st.

Once again, I really enjoyed seeing your build. It came out great and I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.

Nice build.  I always enjoy seeing large models that people build.  Especially when they turn out great.

I actually worked on the "Hog" with this tail number when I was stationed at Kadena AB, Okinawa Japan from 1988-1990.

Nice job on the model.

Owl, great model you've got there!  I've got the big-nosed Snoopy version of the kit in my stash waiting for me to attack it.  I hope it turns out as nicely as yours.

I couldn't tell from you pictures but did you reinforce the wings to prevent the droop?

Thanks!

Eric

Very nice work, Owl!  I have a soft spot in my skull for these things.  My Dad was in Bomber Flight Test at Wright Patt in the late 60's.  I fondly remember going to the base with him and running in and out of the KC-135's, B-47's, B-57's, T-39's and such.  My favorite was the KC-135, especially when they came back from TDY to Hawaii.  They always smelled of pineapple.  :-)

Garylee, I'll be making a roadtrip this weekend.
