In case no one has noticed, it seems the Armor goup is planning to overthrow the Aircraft with numbers of posts!!! Just look at their threads, and you will notice at least three threads discussing as to how they will remove us from the top......any ideas anyone??Wink [;)]

Here we come. Resistance is futile.

Aircraft may be ahead in number of topics, but our post quality is far superior.....

I'll post some pics of my Ju 87G-2 (tank buster) over there "by mistake" when I'm finished.

Maybe I'll do a Photoshop pic of it destroying a "Ronson Lighter." (oops...I mean "Sherman.")

Armor has its place but only after there is air superiority. I have seen what an A-10 can do to a tank. No way in this worlid would I consider being a tank driver, or a tank modeler either. Go air!!!!!

Sad [:(] I have a confession to make. Even though I'm in the middle of about 5 aircraft builds and involved with two group aircraft builds -I bought 3 armor kits in the past couple of months - Two Panthers and a Sheman A3. I've even posted in the armor column a few times for advidce (Hi , Shermanfreak! Big Smile [:D] ) Even now I'm scowering ebay for a good deal for a T-34,Panzer IV and a Matilda.

It started innocent enough. I was looking for another 1/48 A6M2 kit on ebay and I came accross a Tamiya Type 97 Chi tank kit for $9.99 and no bids. I thought 'It's still WWII Japanese. Maybe I could put the two together in a diorama. So I bid unopposed and got it. When I received it and opened the box and started looking at the parts on their trees, something happend. Those rivets! The treads! That main gun! I needed more!! I saw a Tamiya Panther A on ebay. A bigger gun! Bigger treads! I got it! Then I found out it was not accurate. The A kit was did not include all the needed road wheels. The armor forum posters said the 'G' was a good Panther kit. I checked ebay. There's one ! Got it!

Hey, all my aircraft kits have associated adversaries. My new tanks need them too! I need a Sherman!.............................Shock [:O] God ! I can't stop!

Wirbelwind, eh? It's time to bring the high altitude strategic bombing campaign to the theater! Yes, my friends, bombing everything but the target! Big Smile [:D]

Sigh [sigh] I wonder what Chris would say if he was here... Sad [:(]

Take that...

I do think it might be fun if the tank people did a airplane and the airplane people did a tank.

On the other hand, lets do a tank killer group build!

I don't remember which forum(aircraft or armor) but building the other was suggested. This could be an interesting group build- armor build aircraft and vice versa or a paired theme:panther jet and panther tank, tiger tank/flying tiger, p51/ford mustang... This is another good reason for a history forum, cross subject builds could go there.

although i have always embraced the darkside i must humbly decline any armor build as i have never had anything but trouble with armor kits. then again maybe a tank busting kit might work........something to think about.Evil [}:)]Evil [}:)]Confused [%-)]Confused [%-)]
