Repli-Scale?
Posted by Bones-coa on Tuesday, January 27, 2004 9:04 PM
Has anyone heard of this company? I've learned from a book that they have exactly the decals of the Air Forice squadron my father was in. I don't know how old the book is and I've never heard of this company. Are thye still around? If not, does anyone sell their stuff? Thanks.

Lessee, to answer your questions:

1) Yep
2) Nope
3) Kinda

Seriously, Repliscale is long gone. But you can still find their stuff here and there. What specific sheet are you looking for? You could always try asking around on Hyperscale. There's usually alotta decal trading/buying/selling goin' on there.

Just did a google on repli-scale and came up with this, http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=repli-scale. The second link pulled up a site with lots of decals by Repli-Scale, not sure if these are what you are looking for though. Not sure if this helps or not but it pulled up a ton of hits.

The set is SP002 for a 1/48 F-89. The squadron in particular is the 49th FIS based in Goose Bay, Labrador. I think however, I've found someone on Hyperscale that may have the set and be willing to sell it. I'm awaiting a reply now. I'll let you guys know.

Thanks. Big Smile [:D]

One thing that I found with repliscale decals is that they are brittle, don't respond to micro-sol as well as others. So if you get some, take extra care with them since you can't just go out and order another sheet. Hard lesson learned from an F-16B.

Their decals do look good once they're down.
