a-4e/f Book
Posted by gwaihir on Wednesday, January 28, 2004 1:13 PM
Is anyone familiar with the Ginther Book Douglas A4-E/F Skyhawk in Navy Service? I am especially interested in detail pictures and information to help with an A4-F I'll be doing.

If not familiar with this book, any others you would highly suggest?

I looked to find A-4 in Detail and Scale, but it is out of print and I can't seem to find it available.

Thanks for any help. This is a very special plane to me, so I want to make it as accurate as possible.

Have both of the books you are looking for. The D&S book is what you'd expect, plenty of detail photos of all variants, some history, plans, and kit reviews. Squadron's flyer shows it to be rereleased this month so your in luck. The Ginter book is part of a much larger series with different volumes for different variants. I'd say the focus of this volume is on operational use. All squadrons and their markings are illustrated including the usual anecdotes plus some detail drawings. I really enjoy these, especially the markings variations. HTH
