Too many planes, not enough time
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, January 30, 2004 4:54 PM
Hi everyone:

This is such a great site.

Before I joined here I had in mind to build a few fighter aircraft. However, as I continue to read all the great posts my list of all aircraft to build has grown exponentiallyBig Smile [:D]

All I need now is a ton of time, money and work spaceMischief [:-,]

Really, a great big thanks to everyone who participates here for all the great ideas and information.

Have to go now, my wife put a timer on this siteThumbs Down [tdn]

Again, Thanks

Mark

Hi Mark, I haven't been here that long either, but really enjoy it too. And, I really know what you mean about list of "things to do" as well. I am really trying not to buy another kit until the one I'm working on is done, but it is not so easy to do. Do you have a workbench? I used to, but since i moved here to california, I lost my basement! So now it's the kitchen table......arrrghhh.

what are you working on now? Myself, a Jug - what a brute!

take care

Mark,
I could'nt agree more-this site is great just like all the folks here. Your post caught my eye because I was just thinking the same thing. I got my own space to work in and way too many kits to build, just not enough time!
Oh well, only another 24 years until I retire..........................

i know the feeling. with the amount of kits i have and at my current build rate i will have to live till i'n about i'm about 175 years old!!! not that i will ever get that far. plus if i keep buying kits at the rate i do i would have to be immortal to finish themBig Smile [:D] which means that i will probably live long enough to see the B52 go out of service LoL

LOL I come to this site while I am at work so my girlfriend can't put a time limit on this site.Evil [}:)] I too have an extensive collection of kits that need my attention and time. Right now I am currently working on 2 Panda F-35s, one Air Force and the other will be the Marine Corps version. Plus now I am still adding to my collection with Ebay.

Aren't you worried about getting fired surfing unauthorized sites? Damn you government contractor sucking up our hard earned tax dollar. Bet there's 100 leaches like you for every welfare queen in the inner city.

Okay, I'm being sarcastic if you can't tell.

I think I'm going to exploit some third world country and go to an orphanage and make the kids there build my models without compensation. LOL

I know what you mean. I have got into the practice of building by color (planes with the same interior/exterior colors, painting all the kits' metallics & tires together). This really speeds the construction time, and I load & clean the airbrush less frequently. Its only when it comes time to masking greenhouse canopies that things slow down. All of them receive Future, decals, washes & dullcoats at the same time.

If you have two of the same kits, give it a try. You may be able to expand your built collection at twice the rate.
