Hey there Popok! I didnt get to see this thread till now. Thanks for the compliment!

The model you see in my sig is a 72nd ESCI F-8H (although really, its more an E than an H). The PAF operated F-8Ps, which are in reality just the H model with little modifications. The H in turn is a derivative of the D, so the nose is more pointed than the E. For the model you see in my sig I "sharpened" the nose to make it look lie the D nose. In addition, the PAF Crusaders had a pod attached to the tail not normally found on other F-8s.

I see youre already familiar with the two schemes used by the PAF F-8s when they were operational. Im personally biased in favor of the wrap-around camo you see in my sig since its quite unique. I was lucky my clubmate had paint chips from the actual F-8 when I started with the model. The downside of this scheme is that it has very little markings. We have a lot of photos of the bird and the markings are mostly limited to the winged diamonds, the numbers, and warning stencils. Most of the original data stencils have been overpainted.

The Bulldog scheme has more markings but in fact looks quite plain. We have lots of photos of that scheme too. Im not familiar with the Albatross decals but this scheme is actually composed of dark gull gray over ligt gull gray undersides.

Glad to see youre interested in our planes (few in numbers as they may be). My clubmates have been researching PAF aircraft markings extensively and we have a retired PAF general who's helping them get it right. Please feel free to check out our club site: http://www.ipmsphilippines.com. Its still under construction but you will see a page about a relatively recent internal contest we had featuring nothing but PAF aircraft.

If you wish, please feel free to send me an e-mail through the toolbar below and I could send you more photos of the F-8. I'll be more than happy to help.

You've got a very nice F-8 Crusader thereSmile [:)]... Can you give me advice or tips on how you built that bird?

Currently, I have a Hasegawa F-8E Crusader and Albatross decal here and I am planning to do a PAF Crusader. I will start this project as soon as the blackbox cockpit I ordered from Great Models arrived.

Also, which one do you think is the best, the crusader with the bulldog marking or the one with wrap arround camo?
