Hey everyone,
I just finished the CF-5 shown below. Thought I'd share with everyone. It's not intended to be too accurate, just a bit of a practice kit to build up some skills. The kit is the 1/72 Hasegawa T-38 Talon, and I originally intended to just build it oob as a T-38. However, on doing a bit of research on the kit, I found out that it seems to be more of an F-5 than a T-38, so I went in that direction (I think there's a few non-F-5ish features on the kit, but I'm playing dumb.). A fellow club member was kind enough to give me a few decals to dress it up a bit in an agressor scheme.
My main 'lesson' in building this kit was scribing. I really wanted to try some re-scribing and this was the unfortunate guinea pig. Most of the lines are reasonably close to where they should be, but I took a few liberties making panels and other items just to get some practice. The gear wells and details were quite poor and therefore the 'in-flight' pose. The cockpit was pretty much non-existent, so I darkened up the canopy to hide it a bit. Perhaps not too authentic, but it gave me another thing to add to the 'lesson' list.
Anyway.... on to the pics...
