Hi Swanny,

That looks a lot like the "Ray Gun" I lost just after my 7th birthday!! [:0]Wink [;)]Big Smile [:D]

Take care.... will be curious to see it come together, thanks!

Yup, ARBA DH-108 Swallow, high speed version in resin. So far not a single piece fit correctly.

I've got an ex-ARBA kit, and dry-fitting it has produced the same thing. Its the Jaguar J1N1 "Erving." Beautiful detail, lousy fit, lots of pinholes, no decals, bad photocopy directions. I'll get to it someday.
Will yours be the one in which Jeffrey De Havilland lost his life? (was there more than one?) Looking forward to the "progress pics."

Nick, it was featured recently on a Channel 4 series about the kings of speed or something like that.

It was in the episode about the attempts to break the sound barrier, both here in the UK and in the US and Germany. Excellent program, no doubt it will appear on the History Channel at some point in the near future.

If memory servers, the Swallow went on to break the sound barrier.

There is a box review of the kit with historical background on my site. There were three aircraft built, two for low speed research and one, this one, for high speed research.
