1/48 Hi-Tech SO4050 Vautour IIA

The landing gear of the 1/48 Hi-Tech Vautour is white metal. On opening the package I found the landing gear bent. On looking at the kit review on the Squadron web site, it too shows the same bend in the landing gear. Can someone tell me how to straighten the bend without breaking the gear? Does anyone know of a replacement option?

Why don't you e-mail the company and enquire about a replacement part...? White metal is usually rather flexible...

I was under the impression that white metal was brittle so I never attempted to straighten the landing gear. It is straight now and ready for installation. Thanks for the tip.

Glad I could help. Indeed some white metal can be brittle... My experience comes from working with companies that produce white metal kits and they use a stronger, more brittle metal for the first cast, the one that will give them the usable pattern, to be replicated in a softer metal.
