Got the AMT B-52G (late model) kit #8625 on the shelf along with the KC-135. Just part of the kit building back-log. Thinking about doing an inflt. refuel diorama of the two of of these years..

AMT had both a 1/72 B-52G and H. The only D model offered in this scale is from Monogram. According to a topic a while back, Mr. Paul Boyer said that it looks like the AMtech re-release of the H model has been canceled.

AMT released a G and an H model B-52 and you can find them every now and then on ebay, the one with the ALCMs was the H kit #8623, the decals in the kit are for a Fairchild aircraft. The G kit #8633, comes with Hound Dog missles and markings for Elsworth and Travis. There is a pricey resin conversion kit to modify a D to an H that you can get from www.greatmodels.com, they are also taking pre orders for the AMTech kit

I was doing some more digging and found this pic. This pic shows the noseart that was included with this kit. The first noseart from the left, "Petie". What is really crazy is this was a 1/72 kit and they had a bunch of them. The box art was similar to the Buff in the pic as well.

It's been released a few times as was their earlier B-52D... Check out for aftermarket decals..

www.hannants.co.uk

Hannants have got just about anything that's available. Do a search with B-52 as keyword and see what happens. You may then find a more local provider..

Back in 97' I was stationed at Barksdale AFB. One day walking through the BX I noticed a 1/72 scale B-52 G or H model on the shelf. It had markings from Griffis AFB in the late 80's. A friend ended up buying one of the kits and building it. The one thing I do remember about it was it had 20 ALCMs, 8 in the belly and 6 on each wing. I am guessing it was an AMT but I have not been able to come up with anything on this model. I have tried searching the web up and down to see if I could find it again. Did AMT offer 2 differnt versions of the Buff? If anyone knows anything about this kit could you let me know. If I saw the nose art I would remeber it as well. Oh also been doing alot of time searching through the forums here and there is alot of great info.
