FW 190 Camo/paint schemes
Posted by Hun Hunter on Thursday, February 9, 2012 9:51 PM

Long story short, I'm working on Airfix's 1/24 FW 190 and am trying to find a nice resource of painting profiles. Had a bit of success the old fashioned way (Google) but I thought I'd check this collective well of knowledge and info as well. I'm not particularly concerned about markings matching paint or the scheme being 100% accurate, really just looking for ideas, I'll use the decals OOB regardless.

Thanks in advance, and for anyone that's curious... this kit has some warp and fit issues but I'm still enjoying it, going to be a big *** when it's done. Unlike some of the other Airfix kits in this scale it has recessed lines, I know for a fact the Mustang and Hurricane have raised lines. I have my eye on the Bf109 in this line too, $32 is cheap for a lot of kit (can deal with issues for that price)... now I just need to clear a room for just this scale, the Mosquito must be massive.

Again guys, thanks in advance, I will be posting some pictures of this albatross when I'm done.

What scheme and what model 190 are you looking for exactly? You said You're using the kit decals? What scheme does it depict? Not familiar with Airfix's big butcher bird..

I have options for both early and later model 190's, I'm leaning more towards later. Like I said, really just looking for some good scheme charts, I've found a few but not many. Was hoping some one might now of a good site.

Here's what I have readily available, anymore I'd have to scan later on...I think some are without description but once you find a scheme you like its easy to do more research on it...

Fantastic, thanks very much indeed. I'm slowly but surely compiling a nice collection of images, I think I'm going to start doing this with every kit I do, build my own walk around in the process for future reference.
