Trump. P-40

i wish. had to settle for revells p-40b. plus aftermarket details of couse.

Not building one currently, but plan to sometime in the future (probably when my eyes mandate a permanent switch to braille-scale... ) and am stocking up on 'em as well as decals.

Despite several minor annoyances this is the first kit of an early Hawk that has all the usual major accuracy issues tackled. About time, although it ain't perfect. But then, what kit is?

Even though I'd like to build a couple of these I can't wait for AMtech's 48th Hawks. If they ever materialize...

wasn't a resin kit of the P-40B/C Tomahawk in 1/32 scale released a few years back?, or was it the old Hobbycraft(now Academy) kits that I'm thinking of, But when it is released somebody please tell us on how it is on the detail & ease of building, from what I've heard about Trump's kits they have some great spots and then some bad one too, and I want to know before I drop $50.00 on a unknown kit if you could get my drift I really don't want to be disappointed

Yesiree Craftworks released a 32nd P-40C/Hawk 81 and although it's a dang nice resin kit, it's still a resin kit!

The Trumpeter kit will satisfy most builders. I'm a P-40 nut so I'm naturally critical of any Hawk kit that'll come out, but if all you want is a really nice 32nd early-model P-40 then grab the Trumpeter kit. Sure, $50 is alotta dough but not compared to the buck & a quarter pricetag on the Craftworks job and you can always find the Trumpeter kit at a discount. Squadron's price is $5 off of retail, not a whole lot but $5 is still $5. There's probably other places that you could get one for even less.

Your best bet might be to find one cheapo at a show, if you're fortunate enough to have one near you.

As to fit, yes, Trumpeter seems to have its ups and downs. But so do all manufacturers. There was once a day when we had to really work to build a decent model. We've become spoiled over the last 15 years or so...

Having completed the engine & cockpit, I am dry fitting it at this point. Goes together real nice, just wish it had removable engine side panels, and the floorboard was correct. This is my first project after a 5 year break, and having access to the Internet. Great site!!!
