Okay - here's a couple or three bad photos of my airplane. 1:144 scale.

I did some custom stuff on the side to correct for the missing duct, etc. The shine is Future. Will be flat coating it after the decals go on this weekend.

That's nice Mike, I think that scale is so amazing at how good the details are!!! Are you building a carrier, or do you just like tinie tiny models!!??

I really don't much like the small size, but this is by far the most accurate kit out there of the X-35. Clearly there is no heritage of the marginal Italeri kit here, as all the doors have straight edges, the rear fuselage is non-stealthy and it accomodates all the ducts the prototype had. It also includes the Hat Trick tail decals which were the best looking of the prototypes. It builds up VERY nicely though I have had fits with the vert stabilizers staying on - probably more my skills than the kit tho. One major complaint is that it comes with separate lift fan doors but molded in supplemental inlet doors. In STOVL config, both will be open. I contemplated cutting, but the plastic in that area is pretty thick and, as I got the kit on a UK trip, getting a replacement kit if I messed it up was not an option. Ah well - too much info probably, but I am really enthused about this kit. I just hope it translates into a good 1:48 scale kit that Revell Germany is now advertising on its website; the Panda one is awful.
