Looking good so far.
I really want to see when it's finished so I'll stick around with this one.
Where you buy the Big Ed kit?

Regards Ninetalis.

Nice! Had plans to do this one myself, even got as far as test-fitting the fuselage before the fire just...died.

Having the same issue with my Airfix 109 right now. Was all psyched. Now? Meh-ness setting in hard. Because I'd really rather do the Swiss neutrality markings on a 32nd.

aww, Bummer Doogs !

No worries - I'm eyeing a 1/32 Hasegawa G-6 and this scheme:

The Wildcat's really looking nice - love the Wasp and the cockpit with the PE!

Not the -3, mate, the folding wings came with the -4. A Wake Island Wildcat is on my list also, although I had the misfortune to buy one of Hobby Bosses "Easy Assembly"  1/72 F4F-3s, to discover, like everyone else has, that it is an F4F-4 .. oh the joy of filling and scribing.

p38j- I have this same kit awaiting warmer weather so I can begin the NMF nightmare... great looking work thus far- I wasn't able to achieve the same results in the cockpit with the Eduard PE set.  Great looking engine!

good luck getting the engine located within the fuselage- it just seems to rattle around "in there, somewhere"... and it needs to be correctly placed as the undercarriage and some other stuff depends on it.  The wheel well cutouts on the firewall do not match the fuselage..

In many ways, this is an easy 1/32 kit; in other ways it will fight you.

Well.. back on this one... been working on the Haunted Tank build for a bit.. but I gotta get this baby done by 4/1/12...

finished the engine.. and added the exhuast ring with outlets.. I started with my special brew of high heat burnt metal.. ( purlpe-ish ??... ) ,, then dry brushed Testors brown... and dry brushed some deep sea blue,, and finished with weathering powders,,,mostly black..Photobucket:550:0]

[firewall ground down ready for large PE sheet...Photobucket:550:0]

[and now... many clamps to hold it down...  lol

WOW.. I felt like I was in PE hell doing the firewall.. many small peices.. many small bends and little area to grab for bending.. my PE bending tool isn't THAT fine.. but it came out pretty good..
