Trumpeter F-105 1/32nd aftermarket

For those (myself included) who lamented the inaccuracies of the cockpit of the big Thud, I draw your attention to the latest supplemental issue of the Squadron catalogue.(Feb 2004 supplement)
It is listed as a cockpit set for $31.47 + s&h. Pricey, yeah, but for us nutcase modelers......
I almost missed it since it is on the back page toward the right side of the page. I couldn't fill out the order form fast enough! I am building a model of the A/C for a good friend who flew the Thud in Vietnam, and I felt like I was short-changing him with the interior supplied by the kit.

I saw it too. I checked Squadron on line and it would not bring it up. I called and was told they have not received shipment of the cockpit up date yet. It was suppose to be in time for the Feb. sale but now they don't know when they will get it.

I got the F-105G so I guess I will have to either wait for a detail set to come out or start scratch building. There was once a time when I use to build kits right OOTB, curse this desire for model perfection!

Roger that, Scott 53. We are indeed cursed by this dersire for perfection. I do wonder though, if you got two of the Sqnd F-105 D interiors, modified the GIB station appropriately..... Hmm, maybe you ought to wait for Sqdn to come out w/ the 105 G interior.
A number of years ago,I made a model of the Space Shuttle that had no detail of the tiles. So I laboriously cut the appropriate patterns on the model. About five nanoseconds after I put the completed model it in my display case, they came out with a new kit with the tiles molded in. In the words of Larry Niven, "There Ain't No Justice!".

Black Box just announced their new release for the kit, if that's what the Squadron flier is referring to.

I checked the Squadron web site this morning. The Black Box cockpit set is now available. I just placed it on order. All I am waiting for now is to see if they come out with an engine update kit so I don't have to scratch build the bulkheads and mounts.

Tonyryan...I get a chuckle when ever I read an article in FSM on how someone spent untold hrs on a scratch built model only for some manufacture to release it shortly after the story is printed. True, there is no justice.
