The latest edition of Combat Aircraft magazine has a small color profile side view and a photo of the nose of the gray F-117, unfortunately the profile is small and the photo gap is below the nose so all you can tell is it has a gray belly. Look for it in your local bookstore.

No, but thank you still. I know those two. They're from the very beginning of the program, the FSD A/C. Lockheed suggested overall gray in the beginning because as it turns out, black is not the best color for camouflage at night. The Air Force insisted because "...real men don't fly funny looking pastel airplanes."

This new one I'm looking for was applied within the last several months and is definately a two-tone schemeand uses cool grays (ie - Ghost Grays, MOD Eagle, Raptor schemes). It's only been applied to one airframe and I don't know if it still flies in those colors or if it's back in black.

I hope this F-117 doesn't turn out to be like that one tan USAF F-16 from the first Gulf War. We all know it happened, but no one has any good photos.

Recently the Air Force repainted one F-117 out at Holloman in the same colors as the Raptor (http://www.af.mil/media/photodb/photos/031209-F-0000S-001.jpg & http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/news/2003/12/mil-031210-afpn02.htm) was repainted gray as part of a test to determine whether the F-117 can have a role in daytime combat operations.

The only other shot I've seen so far is the bird in the paint shop with masking tape on it. Does anyone out there know where I can see the completed pattern?
