I would suggest visiting the website again (www.pbs.org) and emailing someone about it-- my wife got it for me from either amazon or www.historicaviation.com (BE FOREWARNED ABOUT THE LATTER SITE-- once you go there, you'll never stop spending $$) Wink [;)]

The other one called "Nightfighters" was not as good imho-- too short and too scarce on information....

Mike, you're sure right about HistoricAviation's site. I could bankrupt a small nation there in a very short time Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]

I've had the honor of meeting Dr. Brown and Cal Spann on numerous occasions at the museum, they've both been key note speakers during Black History Month and at our annual Fighter Pilot Symposium...in fact, I have a photo somewhere of me presenting Dr. Brown with a model of his P-51...

Great guys, great story...

Just picked up the DVD at WalMart for around $10. It was a very entertaining movie.

Where would we be without the History Channel? I love it!

It has been said that the Germans actually respected the Tuskegee Airmen more than their own country did! But what a record they had - never losing a bomber to enemy action? Awesome!

Where did you get it? I stumbled around the PBS site and couldn't find it.
My old man was a gunner on 15th Air Force B-17's out of Foggia, Italy. He told me about the 332nd FG...said the Germans kept a respectful distance away when they recognized the red tails.

I gotta buy the DVD! I'll bet I've tried to watch that flick a dozen times and I never get to see the whole thing. Got home from takin' the lady to the Mall in time to catch the last 10 minutes. Listening to the memories of Dr. Brown and Lee Archer was just as interesting as the movies. Someone should do a really good documentry while a few of those guys are still around.

It was a good movie. I like that the History Channel brings in the people who actually lived it in to talk about the movie. Sometimes hollywood gets a little carried away and these guys set it straight.
