Can anyone tell me the difference between these two items? What is "ZOOM"? Thanks.

WOW, looks the same to me. I don't have a clue what the zoom means. Usually the colored PE would be the $24.00, but according to the photo, they're both colored. Maybe you can compare the part numbers on the Eduard website.

I think the picture on Squadron's site is wrong. From Eduard.com:

Zoom sets are a simplified version of our standard sets and only include a few interior parts such as seat belts, instrument panel and approximately 20 important parts for detailing the exterior.

So... I'd guess the Zoom one is the wrong photo. Take a look at Eduard.com to see the real pictures of these things.

I got the zoom version of the Tony Ki-61 set and it looks like it has everything in it that I would use....

Hello happy Eduard users
I confirm that Zoom versions are simplified versions ( seat, controls, seatbelts, etc...) and ate etched "zoom" on the "sprue"; there is also a etched label to say thet it as P47 or anything else; I think that 49240 is a colored version ( the 9 says it). Apart from this, and though Eduard makes great things, you could also take a look at Part PE ( a polish company when Eduard is czech) which offers most interesting alternatives. As far as I know, Victory Models sells Part.
Hope this will help

Thank you all for coming José

One more important thing that hasn't been mentioned yet is that the ZOOM parts are all pre printed too. Which, depending on your feeling is good or bad.

Both of the sets are good quality, in my opinion.
