B-10 Kits?
Posted by nostrdav on Tuesday, February 10, 2004 5:45 PM
Does anyone have a good recommendation on a decent B-10 kit in 1/72? Perhaps like the one Hap Arnold flew to Alaska?

Hey Nostrdav;
well have you seen the old Williams Bros B-10?, it's the only one out there in 1/72 scale for now and it needs some TLC to make it a good display, it has a down fall with the rubber tires for the kit and I think True Details has a wheel & tire set for the Ole Martin, I've built that kit 2 times for the Wing over the Rockies Museum ( Lowery AFB Heritage Museum ) a few years back and I added some extra details to it like better Machine Guns, Engines, scrath built both cockpits, and it really didn't come out to bad the Curatior of the museum really liked it and displayed it on his desk until he left when Lowery shut down back in 1994, and I've seen those kit on EvilBay going for about $10.00

The only injection molded B-10 kit I'm aware of is the old Williams Brothers kit and I can't remember if it's 1/72 or 1/48.

I have a B-10 and its a Williams Brothers 172 kit # WB72-210 and I paid $14.25 for it several years ago. Its still available Ive seen it in many catalogs. Wiliams Brothers Kits are not for beginners there about one step up from a vac kit

Built it too... It's a great kit, but as mentionned before it's not for beginners..! The plastic is very soft. The decals were great, I remember. Some detailling would indeed be welcome, but all in all, a good kit. Go for it!
