Never has been an injection molded kit in 1/72. Aircraft in Miniature Limited makes this plane in a precut vacuform kit under their Transport Wings Kits.

They also make a conversion set for a Shuttle Carrier

Cost for these two will set you back 100LBs British plus shipping.
You will need skill with vacuform, resin, white metal and photoetch but I have heard they are pretty detailed (for that price, they should be)
I have been temped to do this option myself. Only thing holding me back is the cost, and the skill level (OK, that's 2 things).

Entex made a 1/100th 747 which was listed at the time as the biggest plastic airplane model made. I have one along with the Tamiya 1/100th shuttle that are on my "yeah right, i'm gonna build that" list.

I could swear that a friend of mine had an injection-molded kit, but I could be wrong...

Only one on the market, by Model Transport I think, and it's a very basic vacform... Lots of work to turn it into something looking half-way decent. Made in the UK, and shipping costs are quite expensive!

Anyone make such a critter? I've always had a bizzare urge to build a NASA shuttle/747 combo in 1/72 scale. I know of the old Mono (or was it Revell?) 1/144 but that's just too small for my tastes. 747-200, isn't it?

Any ideas?
