Fury FJ-4B Need your advice or tips
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, February 13, 2004 3:24 AM
Hi,

having my first Fury a few weeks ago (posted some pics here) I have orederd a second one now. I want to make it a bit more perfect now (though I have the bad feeling I will never make a satisfying model). For that I have ordered the new Detail & Scale covering the Fury. Its pretty good, with loads of photos in it, but...
As there are no photos of the rear cockpit behind the seat and sadfully the kit provides absolutely no detail for that area, I hope somebody out there might help me with some links or photos etc. I doubt I will have the chance to see a real one in the next yeras. The second thing is that the kit comes without any armament. So I`m thinking about bying AM stuff. But what could I use to get it realistic? Hasegawa (and probably some other manufacturers) sells a few armament kits for US jets, but I have no idea which I could use. Any idea?
Thanks for your help.

From the photos that I have seen, Furys carried Bullpup missles and drop tanks. But it is in the navy and that means versatility. The probably had a much larger capacity than that. The Bullpups are included in has. weapon set 1. As for the rear deck it seems to be almost identicle to the F-86's with a few more hydraulic lines though.
Take this plastic and model it!

Seeing as -4 Fury's never served in combat, the most likely weapons loads would have been drop tanks and/or sidewinders for BARCAP missions, if anything at all.
