I didn't feel like rebuilding 8 of these MK 82's so I just went and bought this off Ebay For $12 plus shipping:

It comes with 6 of the MK 82 extended fuse bombs so I will use those and make up some other ordinances for the other wepaons points.

Mike,

berny13 beat me too to the answer. Along the same lines, didn't FSM do an article on the MK 82 family several years ago?

To convert a standard bomb into a Daisy Cutter, a thirty six inch extender pipe was used. One end was milled down and had external threads cut into it so it would screw into the end of the bomb. The other end had internal threads so the standard fuse would screw into it.

The same fuse was used for each version. The picture maddafinga posted is a good view of the fuse. The arming wire was clamped to the extender.

I have used brass tubing to simulate the extender. I then used very thin telephone wire strands to simulate the arming wire. Tape was used as clamps.

Thanks Derekms.

I have looked at practically every page that Google found in a search including that one you posted. Which is an excellent site by the way. Wink [;)]
I guess there are no real close-up shots of the fuse itself on the web, but there may be one I haven't found yet.
I did find one site that had a photo but it would not allow a right mouse click to save it. Big Smile [:D]

Try this link all kinds of photos of different types of US bombs. Might find something useful here.

Thanks Josh.

I already have that first one. Wink [;)]

That picture as well as this one are the best I could find:

I guess those are good enough. I am just trying to see what the shape of that end piece is supposed to be like. I guess it's not that important. Big Smile [:D]

I need some really good close-ups of Mk 82's with extended fuses as I am trying to modify the ones that came in this Monogram kit.
I have found a few good pictures online but none are up close enough where I can see the ends of the fuses to see how they are shaped.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mike
