Decal Subject research request for A-4E, A-6A/E, A-7E, other US Navy types.........
Posted by Dave Roof on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 8:44 PM

Gentlemen,

I have been asked to draw a number of decal sheets covering USN subjects from the 50's through Vietnam and the early 90's and would like to ask for research assistance.

If you have any walk around type, detailed photos of specific aircraft or other types of reference material you'd like to share, please contact me directly at the email address below:

usndecalartist@gmail.com

*This decal line and/or venture is NOT associated with Orion Scale Models or Flying Leathernecks Decals. I am simply their decal artist and almost all of my reference material covers USMC subjects.

**I have no knowledge of what scales are planned, when their release schedule is, price point or any other details regarding their product line. Again, I am only the artist and reference getting guy.

Thank you,

Dave

are you looking for specific aircraft markings to create decal sheets?  If so, I would ABSOLUTELY love to see one in particular....I will have to get the specifics about the bureau number and such, but my dad was a plane captain on a VF-13 F-8 Crusader back in 1968-69.  48 and 32 scale would be awesome....I will try to get some info and get back to you if I can get my hands on a photo.  The standard VF-13 markings were quite simple, really, nothing too difficult I would imagine.  The only VF-13 Crusader decals I have ever seen released were for the early 1960s, AK tail code, with CVW-10....when my dad was with them they were with CVW-8 and had AJ tail codes.  I will be watching this one....and will get back to you on that photo.

very interesting project, Dave. I'd be glad to help you out. I have many pictures, books, walk-arounds, etc. of Navy and Marine aircraft. Send me an e-mail to garydmason@charter.net to discuss further options. Good Luck!

Hey Dave, I just saw this post about decals and noticed A7-E was listed. I've been looking for decals to do my old plane. I have no idea where to get them at. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

Dan
