Whoa. That really makes me want to go out and buy an airbrush... if only some one would give me the money for it... Sad [:(]

That's a great sandy! I especially love how sandys are always bristling with all sorts of bombs and rockets! Keep up the good work!! Big Smile [:D]

It's interesting that you should say that as one of the most well-known airbrush T-shirt artists in the country, Terry Hill, was also a welder before becoming an airbrush artist.

Mike, I have a Paasche VL..... I used the #3 tip for all the painting on this model.

Next time... I think I'll try using the #1 tip when it comes time to put the camo pattern on. Still practicing with my airbrush... to see what it can do or not do.

I think being a T.I.G welder... welding stainless steel tubes on boilers for 30 years... has given me a steady hand... the airbrush seemed to fit right in my hand... and felt comfortable from the start... if you get what I'm trying to say.

Super job!! The Skyraider is one of my favorite planes. I have two Spad kits in my collection that I plan to build after my next project, a Ki-61 Tony.

Awesome work there, Babva.

I have a friend who flew Spads for the AF in Viet Nam. A great plane, and you have done a fine job of representing it there.

Welcome back! I never left but never built many either! It was the decals that gave it away. They are Navy Tail Codes! Still a great job! Build for yourself and "D@#n" the critics! I still don't know what I want to do when I "grow up"!

The only thing to me that gave it away as a Navy Skyraider was the tailhook sticking out of the back. I am building the Monogram version and it too has a tailhook, but I took it off and filled in the opening for it.

Yep Federal Way is about a 20 minute drive South of Seattle.

Just did a freehand job on it.... still lots of room for improvment.

Got back into the hobby 2 months ago. First model was a tank and now this Skyraider. I'm 49 years young and have not built a model since I was a teenager.

I see you are in Seattle. The Company Commander of my Unit in Vietnam lives in Federal Way. He made it to one of the Reunions a couple years ago and we have been E-mailing ever since.
