The Kopro mould/mold? is really nice. No flash at all. I am just getting back to models after a 5 year break from building and I can't wait to build the George. I am currently nearly finished building the airfix Zero which was a really nice suprise. Next up are the Tamiya P47 and the N1K1 George. Strange after not building for a long while I seem to be able to build them now much faster.... lol although maybe not as well as I remember.

Sorry, I build lots of Japanese aircraft but generally in 1/48th. Bsyamato might know.

Lol I guess no one has built the Aoshima's. Anyway it seems KOPRO now own the Aoshima molds and at $12 each I just bought both. I was a bit nervous before I opened the boxes as the K2 box showed a K1 on it. Worst that could happen was I'd have two N1K1's.

But on opening its definitely a N1K2 and the fuselage and wings are very different in the wing to fuselage area. Very fine looking models too.

In case anyone else is thinking of building a 1/72 George I would highly recommend the Kopro/Aoshima models. Nice fine engraved panel lines with  some very fine tiny rivets under the center section of the wing.  1 piece and multi piece canopy. Coloured Painting and decaling guide. Cockpit interior is about what you would expect Decal over panel, floor, with molded in rudder bar and molded in side panels, seat and back-panel.

I dont have drawings of each aircraft but each  aircraft looks like  a N1K1 and N1K2 George respectively. I have trial fitted the N1K1 together and it looks good.

So for $12 its worth it.

Not posted in a long long time, but does anyone have any experiance of the Aoshima Kwanishi Georges (both j1 mid wing and and j2 low wing). I built an Aoshima model years ago and it was a real dog. But I had heard the newer models like the George were much better. So if I can find them are they better than the old Hasegawa versions.  I plan to build the Rex floatplane (hasegawa is the only one I beleive) and both Georges.

Any oppinions please?
