Hydraulic line clamps are P shaped. They go around the line and fasten to a stringer or bulkhead. They are a bendable aluminum with rubber against the line to keep vibration from wearing the clamp through the line. The rubber wraps around the edge of the clamp. Flaten a thin piece of solder, Radio Shack has some very small gauge, and paint the edges black.

I may get so drunk, I have to crawl home. But dammit, I'll crawl like a Marine.

Thanks for the tips. For the brake lines, I ended up using fine pin stripe tape. I haven't decided yet on the others. Here's one side completed with the exception of those clamps.

Charles,

I like your line of thinking. I have access to some adheasive backed heavy aluminum foil fire extinguisher "tags". they are about 3x6 to Intial and date a visual inspection. Perfect for making brackets, patches, or inspecion plates.

Clear Left!

You can try using aluminum foil cut in thin strips and CA glued in place. It’ll warp around the material you’re using for hydraulic lines like a clamp and you can cut it long enough to form a tab to secure to the fuselage.

Line clamps

I'm looking for suggestions for hydraulic and brake line clamps. I'm thinking that brake line clamps would a metal band like clamp which would wrap around the strut. A clamp for a hydraulic line would simply be a u-clamp with a bolt thru it that screws into a frame, stringer, etc.

I had somewhat come up with an idea of taking very fine wire and using the rubber sheath as a clamp. I could cut it length wise in strips and wrap that around the strut. Any better ideas?

I haven't yet come up with anything for the hydraulic line clamps.

BTW, this is a 1/32 Mig-19.
