Week end Group Build: Revell's new 1/72 Fokker Dr.1... Anyone??!

Hi, anyone interested in honing their rigging skills..? This kit was very recently released and costs just about nothing, and apparently build into a great replica of the famous triplane...

The rigging on this little bird is minimal, so it would not tax would be WWI modelers too much. A great introduction to this sort of modeling, in fact.

I'd propose a start date of Friday 2 April, and a finishing date of Sunday 4 April, leaving everyone over a month to get the kit and any possible add-ons you would want, such as decals (the kit comes with the ever popular but rather boring Richtoffen airplanes) or PE stuff.

Who's in?

I'd love to, I'm all about ww1 planes, but i dont think any of my local hobbies stores have and, and its not listed on squadron. The kit looks good from pics I've seen, hopefully it had a better fit than roden's.

but with college (and lack of a kit) I dont think i'd be able to get any kit done before semester ends

Dominique,

It's a great idea, but I don't think I'll be able to do it. Sad [:(] After I finish my F-4 Phantom, I've got the Roden 1/72 Fokker D.VII lined up. I'm sure I'll eventually get a Dr.1, and the Revell kit looks good.

There's a great thread on this kit at the Aerodrome.com forum's modeling section:

.
There are some good pictures in that thread of the kit being built straight out of the box.

Regards,

-Drew

The dates I proposed could be postponned. I do not have the urge to build that particular kit right away, although it's on my wanted list, if only to compare it with the old, very old Revell kit I built numerous times as a kid.
