I built the E/H about 15 years ago, and it went together fine. It's huge, as you can imagine.
If raised panel lines don't bug you, it's a great kit.

I've seen one built a few years ago, and the guy who built it said he had a few "snags" in assembling the monster but he made it look really good, Italeri made the AC-130A, AC-130H, AC-130U, C-130E/H and C-130J in 1/48 scale, so if your into S & M then there is years of fun for all

HI!Cool [8D]

Well, Italeri's Hercules is an old kit. I wanted to buy one and (secretly) opened the box at the store, Imagine a 1/48 scale Herck with RAISED LINES! Dead [xx(]

Yep, dissapointing! but then you can always rescribe (miles...) of recesed lines if you want to. if it dosent bother you go ahaed, the fit will not be Tamigawa style, so prepare to do the fill and sand dance, but that's the only hercules in this scale.

If you're up for it have fun!Wink [;)]

I've built only armor from them, but I'm interested in getting the sh-60, and perhaps a few others.

From my experience they're a real crapshoot. Some of them are not getting good reviews (Such as the F22) but others are not too bad.

Which version are you planning to get? The early "A" model or the newer "U" model with the 105 and 25 mm gatling gun. I have both but haven't built either one. The early kit has the mini-gun, 20 mm, and 40 mm with full guns and mounts. The later "U" only has the barrels of the weapons and so it's built "closed" up. Neither kit has the interior "crew" compartment for the system operators. The "A" does have a flare rack and an ammo rack , I believe. The "A" doesn't have the exhaust "diffusers" the "U" does. There may be a few little discrepencies the C-130 "experts" can point out that is not obvious to the average builder. There are a few "threads" about building the C-130 E and H versions on the Forum. Same kits, just with guns and pods! Good luck! It's a big kit!

Clear Left!

I'm thinking of ordering in a 1/48 Spectre Gunship but I haven't seen any of these before... has anyone built one? Is the kit any good?
