G'day All,
The A-10 has both Starboard and Port Nav lights on the drooped wingtips, also a nav light on the extreme end of the tail cone.Fomation lights are located Port and Starboard Vertical Tailfin along the lines of the join of the Tailplane. There is a strobe under the cockpit tub right of the L band Aerial.

The LASTE mod (late 80s early 90s) also included strip-lights, or formation lights, around the aircraft. There are three small ones on the wing tips, which form an inverted #8220;T#8221;. There are also two small dark covert (NVG) lights on the wing tips, which were installed, in the mid to late 90s. The tail-cone also received the covert lights. On the underside of the Tailcone there are also Striplights.
On the spine, just aft of the canopy is the two strip lights and the new EGI antenna. This antenna is one of the most resent additions to the A-10 (completed last year 2003) and is the heart of the Embedded GPS/INS mod. It#8217;s the receiver for GPS signals that feed in the INS/weapons systems.

Behind the aft upper UHF antenna are two small #8220;tubes#8221; which are in fact the covert light for the top of the aircraft. By placing them in tubes they can only be seen form above the aircraft.Last but not least is the right side of the forward fuselage. Here you find a strip light.

that makes the T-BOLT a tank buster!!!!!!!!!!!!
