Tamiya F4U-1A - Mold line question
Posted by umiami91 on Saturday, February 21, 2004 9:24 PM
Anyone who built the Tamiya Corsair - how did you deal with the mold lines on the engine cylinders? I can't see any way to sand them out without losing the detail of the cylinder cooling fins.

Help!

Triangular files will redefine the outer ends of the cooling fins. Near the center, you sometimes have to use a #11 blade. It can be a lot of work cleaning up mis-matched mold halves on those engines.
Good luck.
