I'd go the latter route.

Normally I'd be inclined to use white for the undercoat. But in this instance using a color that matches at least one on the lozenge pattern would make touch ups, if necessary, a whole lot easier.

Your last idea is definately the way to go, me thinks...

Hi allBig Smile [:D]

Got myself the Albatros D.V kit from eduard's (profipack). I woul'd like to make the lozenge wings. As you probably know the kit comes with one big lozenge decal. Should I just "slap" it on the wing or is better to coat the unpainted plastic with a gloss coat and then decal? Or maybe I should paint the wing with one of the lightest colors (in gloss) of the lozenge and then decal?

I really want this one to work out!
