I don't think the cockpits differed too much in Italian 109's, most, if not all of them seem to have been hand-me downs from the Luftwaffe. The only thing I can think of that may have changed are the inscriptions for various instruments and controls. Not sure on that, however. They probably didn't have the time to do much but fly and fight...

As to the others, I believe that some of the Finnish aircraft were built at the factories to Finnish specs, including a different interior color. Same for the Hispanos, although they were actually built in Spain after the war, so naturally there would be differences. The instrumentation would surely have been altered because of the different powerplant used by the Hispanos.

I'll have to dig a bit and see if this is all correct; mostly I'm going by memory from discussions on other forums and at shows and what have you, as well as past research. I'll see if I can get some more definate information than what I've given above.

i presume you mean hans-joachim marseille, also known as "the star of africa"? i haven't heard of a marcell experten out in africa.
there are some great decal shhets out there for his 109 trops, and i can dig up the references/sources if you like, but from memory i think they are from cutting edge or eagle cals.

wasnt taken that way. was glad you made the correction. as i am using photos from the net to color coordianate my cocpit colors was glad to hear that what i was using for reference was not accurate. again thankyou.

btw was the italian 109 different color wise from the german? sorry to hijack this topic. the question just poped up.

BTW, if you're a stickler for details, those shots are of a Finnish 109 and there are detail differences in the cockpit between Finnish & German aircraft. Also, the bird at the USAFM (link provided by fightnjoe) is an Hispano-built aircraft that has been 'converted' back to look like a genuine Gustav. The cockpit in that aircraft (mostly the instrument panel) is not truly representative of a wartime 109. If you're not a stickler for details, then ignore what I just wrote...
