...to introduce myself - new to the site, but not to the hobby! re-introduced some 12 years ago by my wife, shortly after we'd gotten together (poor dear, she had no idea what a frankenstein's monster she'd created...) and haven't looked back since - have become a complete kit-building junkie, although i probably take waaayyy too long to finish'em; still, i confess i get such pleasure/enjoyment from building - i'm particularly enamored of flying boats, in whatever scale i can find, but i generally prefer 1/48 scale, since the detailing is somewhat easier, and i'm kind of a detail/scale appearance/fit'n'finish freak---anyhoo, i like to build less well-known subjects; the "unlovely", yet effective types that still gave terrific service: grumman's duck, the OV1-A mohawk, the A-10 warthog, etc.---i'm wondering if anyone can help me with aftermarket conversion sets to update testors' OV-1A bronco kit to the -D model (with FLIR turret up front, etc.) and maybe some help with the interior-if there is no interior kit, could anybody suggest which ejection seats would be equivalent to those in the actual plane? the inerior as supplied with the kit is spartan, to say the least, and while i'm willing to do a certain amount of scratch building, if there's an interior available someplace it'd sure be helpful...that's all for now, hope to hear back from some of you!

Welcome to the forums, bearzywearzy! I'd love to help you on your OV-1 Bronco problem (seeing as my airforce still uses them!) but i just don't know too much abou it! If you needed help with a B-17, well, that's another story! Smile [:)]

Welcome, I like the sounds of your tastes, especially the flying boats. I too am a big fan of 1/48 flying boats. I just salvaged pieces from that Testors OV-10A Bronco you spoke of to update my 1/48 Grumman Goose. I hear ya on the Bronco - that kit is naked inside - very disappointing.

Welcome to the forums. I share your love for the ugly but loveable Bearzywearzy. I'm starting work on the Academy 1/72 OV-10D. I agree on the cockpits, on this kit too there is very little detail in the front office. As for conversions I can't be of any help, I'm sorry for that. I would really like to hear how the project turns out though.

I have an OV-1A coming to my museum in the next few weeks. I've been told that it's demilled but is complete (a contradiction of terms).

Once it arrives, I'd be happy to photograph it for you.
