I'm building a DO-17 E/F Hobby Craft kit. The cockpit doesn't have much detail,so I'm looking for sources of information to detail the cockpit. I'd appreciate any information on reference materials. Roger

hi roger,
firstly welcome...

i built the hobbycraft Z version and that was similarly lacking in detail, and i seem to remember i butchered a resin cockpit detail set for a ju-88 i had spare just to stop the cockpit looking like an empty cupboard![:0]Tongue [:P]
i suggest trying to get swanny's help here as he built the same kit as you i think...maybe check out his website...he is a regular contributor here and has always been most helpful.

Eduard has a PE detail kit for the Monogram 1/72 DO-17Z, which probably isn't too much different at least from the standpoint of adding some detail to the kit. You can take a look at their site at www.eduard.com, search for DO-17. I have an old Argus book about building Battle of Britain aircraft, there is scant info in there on the DO-17. With the big greehouse canopy on this plane it's begging for some detail isn't it... Good luck. Looking at this cutaway view of this bomber, all I can say is I wouldn't want to be inside on the receiving end of a Hurricane...

Here's a couple of pages of pics. There is only one cockpit interior shot, probably of a Do 17Z, in B&W.

Hope this helps.
