P-40b question
Posted by Theuns on Saturday, February 15, 2014 10:43 AM

Can someone please shed some light on what the hole in the right side of the panel just behind the rear cockpit glass was for? It is in the front lower section of the panel.

On the left side same panel there are 2 round things sticking out, I assume it to be place where camera lenses were????

It is for the 1/32 Trumpeter kit. Do I just leave the righ side hole in the panel open? Fir the left side thre are 2 holes in the glass that corospond to the "raised bumps" in the panel, but they do not stick out or even come close to the glass.

In scale I would recon they are about 5-8" back from the glass's inner side.

Thanx

I'm not sure, but isn't the fuel filler cap on the port side? That could be it.

I agree with Nathan. On the references that I have, the fuel filler is on the port side and is usually painted red.

Keep in mind that the one with Erik Schilling in it has been restored, but it gives an idea of it.

That helps allot guys, thanx!

ow for another dumb question.

I had to install a piece of supplied plastic inside the windshield as armoured glass. I used crystal claer for this but it still messed up the canopy and future does not hide it.

I now have to either try and remove it , clean it up and pollish it. This is however risky sa the plastic is very thin.

Or, is there a frame on the canopy where the glass plate goes? I can't quite see in the pix. If so, is the frame on the inside only?

Thanx
